This cross is between the Thunder Mountain Longhorn, an extra long , skinny pepper native to China’s Leigongshan Mountains, and the Cacho Negro a brown pepper from Costa Rica. Created by Jes Christiansen from Denmark, the pepper pods ripen from green to brown and are as long as the Thunder Mountain Longhorn, but with slightly thicker , plumper pods.
The pods give an earthy, raisin like flavour with medium heat, and reminded us of the dried Ancho and Guajillo peppers from Mexico. This pepper would be a great all rounder for any food application .
